Custom Hoodies and Sweatshirts With Your Logo: Printed or Embroidered?

Printed or stitched? How to choose for custom hoodies, sweatshirts, quarter-zips and Carhartt, plus prices and timing.

Need one hoodie with your logo, or a hundred for the whole company? We do both. The first choice is how your logo goes on: printed or stitched. Print it if the design is big or colorful. Stitch it if it’s a chest logo that needs to look sharp for years. We do both in our Ashland shop, with no minimum.

Embroidery holds up wash after wash, so it’s a favorite for staff hoodies and jackets. For a big design across the back, printing is usually the better choice, since stitching that much takes a lot of thread and time.

You can also do both: a stitched logo on the chest and a printed design on the back.

screen printing for bigger orders.

Ordering 12 or more hoodies with the same design? Screen printing is another option. It takes 15–20 business days, so it works best when your date is a few weeks out.

hoodies, crewnecks or quarter-zips.

  • Hoodies can be printed or stitched, front or back.
  • Crewneck sweatshirts look a little dressier and work with either method.
  • Quarter-zips with a stitched chest logo are a great fit for office and sales teams.

what a custom hoodie costs.

Hoodies cost more than tees because the hoodie itself costs more. Here’s how the logo is priced:

  • Embroidery: $7 a piece for up to 7,000 stitches, then $1 for every 1,000 more. A simple chest logo often stays at $7.
  • New logos: a one-time fee to set up your logo for the embroidery machine. We keep it on file, so reorders are easy.
  • DTF printing: priced per piece. Full color costs the same as one color.
  • Bulk discounts: 5% off at 12 pieces, up to 17% off at 101 or more.
